It seems the more technology advances, the closer we are for to making things we consider movie magic into reality.\u00a0 I mean, we are still a few years (decades) away from the flying car from Back To the Future <\/em>(unfortunately), but each new moment of progress means we\u2019re one step closer! (We have car boats already.\u00a0 Air is obviously our next step).<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at what\u2019s new in the lock industry.\u00a0 Not yet on the market, but reasonably priced considering the cost of technology nowadays, the August Smart Lock is a lazy man\u2019s dream (as is most technology truthfully).<\/p>\n

So what is it?<\/p>\n

Well, consider how everything is on your smartphone nowadays.\u00a0 You can check the weather, check the stocks, Skype, Facebook, tweet, etc., etc., etc.<\/em>\u00a0 Really, who even uses their phone to call nowadays?\u00a0 You can even turn your phone into a universal remote!\u00a0 Imagine that, changing the channel of your TV by phone.<\/p>\n

Using this line of thought, August Smart Lock has been created for your door.\u00a0 With this new technology, you no longer need keys.\u00a0 Instead, you just need your phone in your pocket.\u00a0 You don\u2019t even need to take it out!\u00a0 The sensor on the door automatically senses the code from your phone and unlocks itself.<\/p>\n

To make things even cooler, the code can be shared!\u00a0 If you have a friend coming over in the afternoon, you can send him or her the code which will only work between the times you specify.\u00a0 That way, if you are in the middle of something important like making dinner or painting a grand masterpiece or trying to make an clay ashtray, you won\u2019t have to stop to answer the door.\u00a0 You friend will just let him or herself in.<\/p>\n

This automatic unlock feature can be turned on and off upon your digression.\u00a0 The great thing about this lock is that it doesn\u2019t depend on wifi or electricity.\u00a0 Instead, it is opened through Bluetooth.\u00a0 That way, there are no worries if there\u2019s a blackout in the neighborhood.\u00a0 The lock itself runs on batteries.<\/p>\n

If your phone dies, there\u2019s no problem either!\u00a0 Because the lock still looks as it did originally, you can still sue a traditional key.\u00a0 If you happened to misplace the key, you can always borrow your friend\u2019s phone, download the app, login, and unlock your door.\u00a0 Seems a bit much, but let\u2019s be honest.\u00a0 That\u2019s like 2 minutes at most.<\/p>\n

The great thing about the August Smart Lock is that you don\u2019t have to worry about unauthorized key replication.\u00a0 There are no key molds lying around.\u00a0 Instead, you can use your app to track exactly who has access to your house and revoke it when you feel the need to.\u00a0 There is even a log so you can see who has left and entered your premises.<\/p>\n
